Digital educational platforms are widely used in university environment. Computer-based learning started in the early 90s and became more and more present in the educational environment as the technology developed in this direction. The starting point of the present research was the Association of American Publishers (AAP) report that described the American students’ perception concerning the use of digital learning platforms. The AAP study stated that this type of platforms "equip students with the technical skills and knowledge needed for future courses and jobs" and that "the use of digital platforms can increase student performance by up to a full letter grade". The main objective of the present research is to identify whether the students from the other side of the Atlantic have the same perception related to the efficiency of eEducation. The present paper embedded a comparative approach regarding Romanian and Russian students perception related to learning efficiency while using educational platforms in order to identify the benefits and challenges faced by users. Furthermore, the research identifies the level of attractiveness of such educational instruments within Romanian and Russian educational environment, particularly the degree of interest in accessing the virtual classes. The authors consider that identifying the potential, the advantages and the disadvantages of these platforms, from students point of view, helps the professors organize better the e-content. Research methodology consisted in a survey based on a questionnaire. The respondents of the pilot sample are students of University “Politehnica” of Bucharest and of Ural Federal University, the authors intending to expand the research to other universities. | Keywords
