As a result of the pandemic in the last years, the Romanian education system had to go through a fast and spontaneous process of transitioning from learning in the physical environment to online learning. This affected both teachers, who had to find solutions and resources to ensure the continuity of learning, and students who, caught unprepared, switched to different way of learning. This paper aims to analyze, through a micro research, the impact that the crisis situation caused by the Covid 19 pandemic had on pre-university teachers who had to adapt quickly and without prior training to the teaching-learning online environment. Thus, two objectives of the research are pursued: on the one hand, identifying the teachers' perception of the use of virtual learning platforms, on the other identifying the need for teacher training in order to use learning platforms. In order to achieve the research objectives, the teachers were interviewed through an online questionnaire, developed in Google Drive. The aspects pursued in this research were: the level of digital skills of teachers at the beginning and after a year of pandemic; the difficulties encountered by the respondents in adapting the teaching strategy to an online environment; the effectiveness of online lessons; communication in the virtual environment; the need for teacher training to use the virtual learning environment, positive aspects and limitations of online learning. The results of the research indicate that although it has been difficult to tackle the online process, teachers have faced these challenges. They appreciate the positive aspects introduced by the online environment and want to improve their knowledge in this direction. | Keywords
