Technology is already part of most people's everyday life, whether analysing the usage of smartphones, computers, virtual reality (VR) headsets or any other device, and it keeps gaining more and more importance and popularity with each day passing. Romania is still a developing country, which means, besides other aspects, that it has not reached its full technological potential yet and that part of the population still lacks access to such devices or the ability to properly use them. Statistics show that Romania registers annually a large number of fires that cause victims and material destruction. This study aims to analyse the potential of digital technology in a context that could help people train in case of fire emergencies. An online questionnaire has been conducted and the following paper processes the respondents' answers in order to highlight valuable insight on Romanians' openness to fire safety training using digital technology. In particular, we have chosen to explore respondents' acceptance and interest in training through virtual reality environments. This research also examines the usefulness of already-implemented training methods, while trying to understand if digital technology could be able to support improvement in this area. Nonetheless, the applied methodology and data interpretation discussions were underlined and explored in this study in order to draw a valuable conclusion. | Keywords
