Since technology is rapidly developing and natural language processing applications are becoming increasingly prevalent in our everyday lives as well, it is important for us to be able to understand how younger generations are interacting with these tools and how they envision their futures as a result of this development. The purpose of this study is to investigate 48 undergraduate students' current usage patterns of ChatGPT as well as their perceptions regarding its future value, using a survey-based study. As a result of the study, one of the key findings is that technology has become an essential part of modern life, emphasising both the historical significance of Natural Language Processing (NLP) as well as the openness of the younger generation to adopting these emerging technologies. There is a wide range of activities in which students use ChatGPT in their daily lives, from academic support to social interaction to personal organisation, and it is used in both academic and social settings. Also, participants expressed optimism that ChatGPT is likely to transform their lives in the near future, while acknowledging that it may have some challenges along the way. Based on the results of this study, it is evident that NLP tools like ChatGPT play an important role in shaping the experiences and expectations of the next generation, as demonstrated in the study itself. As a result of this paper, there will be provision for further research and development in this field in the future. | Keywords
