DATA ANALYSYS USING PYTHON FOR ACCESIBLE ON-SITE BIOMECHANICAL ANALYSIS Authors: Popa Vlad, Isidori Emanuele, De Martino Mario, Alonzi Roberta, Sandor Iosif, Dumitru Rares Ciocoi-Pop Volume 2 | DOI: 10.12753/2066-026X-23-050 | Pages: 80-87 | Download PDF | Abstract
Assessment, when it comes to human movement, it can be subjective or objective, and even if we like to talk about it or not, it is the foundation on which good or bad decision-making is done. It goes without saying that once data extraction is finished, within any observed evaluation, that data analysis can commence. So the data collected must be as objective and as with little error as possible. In this study, we shall video record a jump within a group of young subjects. The video will be analyzed afterwards using a readilly available software like Kinovea, in order to collect data such a length, angles, times for specific stages of the movement. The data extracted shall be then analyzed withing a template using Python programming language as a mean to get specific values. From what we can observe, starting from the videos taken on-site, data extraction and data analysis, the whole process appears to be a very relevant and accessible mean of biomechanical evaluation. Taking advantage of what current days have to offer can really change the way we as specialists work on a day to day basis, and this can have significant impact on our outcomes in daily practice. | Keywords
